Part 2 of the Auraria Campus History! In this episode we find out the results of the previous redlining efforts. The city of Denver uses the flood of 1965 as an excuse to write off the entire neighborhood and despite the valiant effort by residents, the neighborhood is demolished and replaced with the Tri-Campus space that it is today.

On January 6, 1982 in the midst of a blizzard, two young women were murdered outside of Breckenridge, Colorado. The only thing linking them was an orange sock, and the case went cold for 40 years. That is until 2021 when true crime hero genetic genealogy swooped in to crack the case!

Edward Ives was not what you would necessarily call a good man, and the wild story of murder and robbery that lead him to the hangman's noose is fascinating by itself. But the story of his botched hanging is what lead Colorado to stop using the noose as the method of putting criminals to death.
