This fun, short, and concise book serves to reintroduce children back to the dentist after COVID-19 or even for a first time visit, without feeling intimidated by the full-body armor (gowns, gloves, masks, visors) of the dental team.
Zelco, a lively snail character, falls victim to a menacing toothache, which mum manages to solve with a quick visit to a very friendly dentist. A short quiz is included to educate both mum and child as to how to preserve and care for their teeth. Also included are those questions children may wish to ask the dentist but are too shy to do so.
The book aims to help parent and child to fully participate whilst at the dental surgery and encourages the child to build a rapport with the dentist without feeling scared and thus highlights the positive aspects of the visit. The accompanying illustrations are very colorful, humorous, and engaging for mums and children, with a bonus illustration of the quiz answers. Enjoy!
