    Description

The year is 2245, and the world has undergone explosive growth in multiple industries. The age of Virtual Reality came long ago, opening up new fields for people to enjoy and seek employment. There were even those that chose to sacrifice their physical bodies, becoming digital existences that lived within Internet communities.

But with the age of VR, everyone still dreamed of that next step, the next level of adventure. And after 100 years, it has finally arrived. The first consoles, known as Seeds, are mass distributed among the people, with such realism that they no longer qualified as a Virtual Reality, but as an Artificial Reality. But what happens when things become too real?

    Here's my two cents...

    1) Story mostly focuses on MC and Game Concepts
    2) There are emotional connections but so far absolutely no romance
    3) A lot of grinding, but realistic character development and no deus ex machina powerups

(That means no cheating the system because usually game devs ban you for that!)

    4) Main character is essentially a Druid + Technomancer in space and reminds me of a Jedi
    5) Subtle personal growth of the main characte and they don't start off a COMPLETE idiot

If you can handle that then get this book, this is a LitRPG meant to be enjoyed by someone who likes RPGs, more specifically MMOs, AND enjoys them for the story and satisfying character development. (Wouldn't hurt to be a general Sci-Fi fan as well)

Everyone else go buy something else, to each their own.

    Litrpg

Pretty standard Litrpg, though I felt it had better flow than most.
I did like that the protagonist doesn't seem to be above and beyond others.
no romance. not high in drama. not a lot of conversations.
    action adventure, decent descriptive detail.
I did get caught up in this story.
if you are looking for Litrpg type story, with the protagonist doing a lot of grinding this is for you.
if your looking for a romance, drama or suspense... probably not what you want.

    Have finished all 3 books

    Any additional comments?

Many of the reviews are correct. This book has very little story, containing mostly game mechanics. I'm writing this review here after finishing the third book. Don't give up on this series. The first book seems to be setting everything up. It gets more interesting and adds a tremendous amount of unique ideas to both LITRPG and SciFi. Once the second book comes suddenly there is a story and at least I, am finding it interesting.

    All game mechanics, no story

Two hours in, I have to stop. It's all game mechanics, no story. Kept waiting for an actual story, with actual characters, to start, but I'm having to draw the line.

    Good with some problems

Comparatively there is no better and complete game world in the litrpg genre. The downside of that is that the story can be slow at times. To make a complete world the author has sacrificed plot and character development.
Unlike other stories in this genre I have not found any glaring consistency and found the world/game to be immersive and whole.
Word of advice, forget the first hour of this story (except for the idea of people becoming virtual). The author makes the main character out as an experienced player who has been making a living playing games and selling unique items (professional player)

HE IS NOT! Do not think of the main character as experienced. Pretend he is just a random guy, whose parents went virtual, and doesn’t understand games (at all since all his development and training choices were horrible). If you see him as just a guy playing a new game without too much experience you will have less cognitive dissonance.

no plot at all. just game stats and "mana low"

no plot. good voice actor. waste of money. I suggest you not buy this book

    An amazing journey

The first book sucked me into it completely. The way the world of magic was established and described was so compelling that I couldn't get enough of it.

Second and third books kinda went in weird direction with some of the references and jokes but they still kept me engaged in the main story.

The last book nailed it. Everything made sense to me and I'm wholly satisfied.

    Overall: 4,5/5, great series.

    Ugh, just why?

If I wanted to play am rpg I would. I wouldn't read about someone else playing one. This book has a good premise but it falls short on so many levels. Wouldn't even recommend this to someone if they could borrow it from a friend for free.

    GRIIIIIND. GRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIND... Whatever...

This story turned out to be one giant grind, to use the gaming term. The setting is interesting but it's just the account of some guy playing a game. There is a world changing event happening in the background but the protagonist seems to be "meh." about it and goes on playing his game despite the fact his body had been transformed in the real world. No depth to the story at all but still something to turn your brain off and listen to.

    MEH

not the worst but stopped after book 1 for a few reasons.
it has a decent litrpg story but just like so many I can't imagine myself in this situation where I would or anyone would think like the MC. for instance
SPOILER ALERT : MC lives in future technology is at a point where you can digitally upload your Conscience he plays to make money spends half of savings on new game with immersion pod only 1000 units sold for beta test after only playing and logging off a couple times the pods start to change the real world and when they log off they stay as in in game char with physical and magical abilities. the news knows and he gets a call from a local cop that tells him he should keep playing and he does so he can make money...
that was all in first few chapters. in what world would a government of any kind not shut this down at this point or even better use them as some type of test subjects ( only finished book one so maybe that is where this goes but at least hint at it or show Government is moderating they situation better than a local cop calling)
I might have bought book 2 just to see where it goes even though I couldn't identify with MC or the real world he lives in if the second book wasn't only 8 hours long. if I'm paying the 11 to 12 bucks for a credit it either needs to be quality if not quality atleast give me quantity to justify the credit ( by quantity I'm ok with mediocre but not with Stat filled fillers)
