An excellent overview of atheism.

There is always a tendency to project in a review, what you wish a book was rather then review what the book actually is. That's my dilemma here. I wish this book went into more detail and gave extra examples and maybe just provided a little more depth. That said, it's a very short book and it's very concisely illustrates all of the major reasons why people disbelief.

My only other criticism was that the reader seemed to rush (at least that is how it sounded to me). I read audiobooks constantly due to a hand problem that makes holding a book for prolonged periods painful. Thus I am very familiar with audiobooks and feel qualified to comment on this point. I just felt like he sounded rushed.

Overall, it's an excellent overview and I would recommend it to anyone looking to understand atheism or anyone questioning their own fair or lack thereof.

The Best HandBook for any developing mind

What made the experience of listening to Why There Is No God the most enjoyable?

The point to point reasoning and logic of each line is perfect for me because it hit every single rebuttal i have ever heard from a christian or muslim i have argued against although i have many of my own refutes against their ill conceived logic this gave me so many more.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Why There Is No God?

The most memorable part of the book probably had to be the parts of how religious people can stay religious even while they have doubts and real life understanding. I have always been confused about this and it always angered me to think about logical and reasonable people that i know that are still religious; but this gave me an insight that thoroughly explained it and i can now be more empathetic with my theist friends.

What about Dave Richards’s performance did you like?

it was a tad robotic lol and i can imagine if i had one of my theist friends listen to it they would be able to understand it but it wouldn't surprise me if someone thought that's the way all atheists are. Robotic and logical

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it was although to retain it better i will be listening many more times.

Any additional comments?

Awesome book I'm so glad people like you are out in the world as well because although i know I'm not alone in my atheism i do feel lonely when i look at my friends and recognize I'm the only atheist but books like these remind me that i'm not unique nor am i alone in my disbelief.

A good introduction to atheism and logic.

Any additional comments?

The narration by Dave Richards is good but I would have liked it if he spoke just a bit more slowly.

Armin has done a very good job of outlining and explaining the reasons why there is no god in a succinct, direct and easy to understand manner. I recommend this book to believers, non-believers and everyone in-between and around the edges. Love, Peace and Happiness to you all!

This book helped me solidarity what I've always known. I'm looking forward to his next books. As I learn more, I feel like a spell is being lifted.

A debate playbook

Any additional comments?

When debating god's existence or lack thereof, things are bound to devolve quickly into a subjective mess. Most often, this can be attributed to the lack of a common framework (i.e. language) accepted by all of the debating sides. This book, seeks to provide such a framework, by way of rebutting 20 of the most common arguments for the existence of god, and it does so in a lighthearted fashion. The book can also be thought of as an introductory reading into the contentious subject, and as a refresher course for those who want to revisit many of its basics.

Good and Bad

It has some very good content but is very choppy because they constantly give web addresses for more information. Information that should be in the end notes are read aloud by a subpar narrator. Much better to get this book in print

To the point and indisputable

It does not take much to show that any of the proofs or attempts at proof for God's existence are all fatally flawed, but it can be a little bit difficult to keep all of the refutations and rebuttals straight. This book provides a useful aid. Also, when engaged in a discussion with the religious, their minds are used to simple black amd white amd unaccustomed to their ideas being challenged. The goal is to snap them out of their illusions as with a Buddhist choan. To do this, you can't throw at them every idea in the God Delusion (Dawkins) or simply point to Christopher Hitchens and assume people will get it. You need simple and accurate rebuttals where any specific objection to God cannot take more than 3 minutes to explain or you will lose people. Fortunately, this book demonstrates that 3 minutes is all it takes. We are not debating any complicated thing here, but you do have to be precise and cogent when debating people who cling to their bibles, korans etc. and this book provides a cut to the chase set of responses that are not all that can be said, but should prove sufficient enough to at least not leave one at a loss for words and to sow doubt in the minds of the faithful.

Great Narration and Inspiring Story

Great arguments, non-confrontational rebuttals to common atheist misconceptions. Great for repeated listening. Recommend for all.

Simple responses or complex ones. Both are given!!

I have read many looks like this. Most try to go way over the top with in depth and complex explanations. I really enjoyed that the author offers a very down to earth, common sense explanation first that anybody could use in an argument and then he offers more depth and detail to elaborate.
The pacing of the book is fairly quick and I found myself pausing it a lot and rewinding to digest what he said. I don't think that's a bad thing because this book is crammed full of so much information I simply didn't want to miss anything.
There were several other arguments I had read in other books and I was glad to not see them repeated here.
I recommend this book to anybody who is willing to take an honest look at their religion or anyone who has already decided to step away.

Entertaining listen. Loved the narration.

Loved the length of this book. Nothing was drawn out. Very efficient at making its many important points. And funny! The narrator was perfect for the topic. He did incredulity quite well and at several points I had a good laugh. Highly recommend for anyone.
