When Jailbirds Sing takes Enemies to Lovers to a whole new level, when 16-year-olds Claire Conrad and Ricky Ortega meet in Juvenile Detention.
Ricky, a reluctant gang leader, landed himself behind bars after killing his abusive and manipulative father, who forced him into the gang lifestyle. Despite his tough exterior, Ricky's dream is to bring back '80s music and become the next pop sensation.
Claire received an express ticket to the slammer for attempting to rob a store. Her parents weren’t around, which left her to take care of her younger brothers all by herself. How else was she going to feed them? Despite her tough circumstances, Claire is determined to get into Juilliard, so she can compose music.
When Ricky and Claire meet, an intense rivalry blossoms, but after weeks of mean pranks and loud arguments in the cafeteria, their passion for music might just bring them together.... If aggressive cell mates, power-hungry guards, and their dark pasts don't break them first.
