Description
As the Emperor marshals his armies to reclaim the galaxy for the glory of mankind, one by one his Space Marine Legions are reunited with their missing primarchs. The XVIII Legion are still waiting to find their true identity, unaware their own lord has been found. In the Taras Division, legionaries face annihilation as they take a last, desperate stand against a monstrous ork invasion.
Meanwhile, on Nocturne, Vulkan has raised and trained a new force of warriors. Now it is the time for him to lead his sons into battle. Now it is the time for him to truly don the mantle of primarch, not only to save one half of his Legion but to forge a new, indivisible whole.

Not a primarch book,
The book is supposed to be about Vulcan, buts hes not in about half of it. Good salamdanders book; not a good Vulcan book.

Poor Background
Maybe I’m spoiled by the Primarchs book on Angron, but this offers no insight into Vulkan, and only minimal ones into his Legion. Very disappointed - I knew nothing about Vulkan going on, and know next-to-nothing finishing up.

Good book with great narration!
Jonathan Keeble does this book a wonder by narrating voices with different accents, he presents each character with depth and feeling as if we were in the story ourselves.
The story itself seems a tad bit lacking in background and depth, but for its length is a great feature packed with action to add more flavor to the deserving salamanders legion.

The feelings and narration
I love anything with the salamanders in it and this book is no exception. Every chapter will let you know how much Vulkan is an anchor for the whole legion and the power of a single primarch to turn around a fight

Generic action schlock
Five hours of space marines fighting orcs, interspersed with occasional psuedo-philosophical babble. While Jonathan Keeble knocks it out of the park in terms of narration, the actual story is mostly soulless and boring. It also somehow fails to feature Vulkan for most of the runtime.

A Love Letter To Vulkan

Vulkan is too f-ing nice
if you know anything about Salamanders you'll know what to expect. the vibe is very heroic/ nice compared to the other primarch books I've read. My bias could be showing seeing its my favorite chapter of space marines but Vulkan being best dad to his sons here is pretty great.

Immer wieder schade, wenn Bücher, die characterzentriert sein sollten, für 2/3 nur daraus bestehen wie irgendwas zerschossen wird. Kann leider nicht alles in der Serie so gut sein, wie Malcador oder Alpharius
