    Description

A brand new collection of short stories featuring the Queen of Crime’s legendary detective Jane Marple, penned by twelve remarkable bestselling and acclaimed authors.

Read by Alex Kingston, Adrian Scarborough, Adjoa Andoh, Imogen Stubbs, Alison Steadman, Jodhi May, Chipo Chung, Cathy Tyson, Ramon Tikaram, Tanya Reynolds, Celia Imrie and Miriam Margolyes.

This collection of twelve original short stories, all featuring Jane Marple, will introduce the character to a whole new generation. Each author reimagines Agatha Christie’s Marple through their own unique perspective while staying true to the hallmarks of a traditional mystery.

Miss Marple was first introduced to readers in a story Christie wrote for The Royal Magazine in 1927 and made her first appearance in a full-length novel in 1930s The Murder at the Vicarage. It has been 45 years since Agatha Christie’s last Marple novel, Sleeping Murder, was published posthumously in 1976, and this collection of ingenious new stories by twelve Christie devotees will be a timely reminder why Jane Marple remains the most famous fictional female detective of all time.

    A good book

Most stories really are Miss Marple.
Well written in the same last century spirit and well performed....
Loved the last one when Miss Marple takes an unexpected step...

    A treat

For Marple fans this will be a absolute treat. The majority of the stories were good and managed to capture bits and pieces of the nuances of Agatha Christie's Miss Marple but adding a freshness to it that was so inviting. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

    Editing failure

The story narrated by Celia Imrie has reading errors that have not been edited properly.

    Nice try…

I was elated at first, when I bought this book. Then when I read/heard it, not so much. First of all most of the stories lack the „Christie“ touch. Some of them are highly uninspired and very dull. Others are ok, but not one measures up to the real thing. What is most annoying though, listening to the audiobook, are the many editing mistakes. Especially chapter 24, read by the wonderful Celia Imrie. It seems that chapter hasn‘t been edited at all, since there are so many slips in it. Very disagreeable to listen to. Don‘t expect too much, although the book makes a nice light reading, the audiobook not so much.
