Loved this book

This is a good and hard message to hear. I did not see proper restoration and reconciliation growing up. I knew God was different than many things I saw but was unable to see past my own fear and feelings to understand that punishment is not from God. It is also very hard for me to face the fact that I am responsible to restore and seek connection in relationships. I have spent many years building my walls and now I see I actually built my own prison. Far away from the connection, love, and restoration I have needed.

Great book, poor editing.

First off, this is one of my favorite Christian books that I own.
with that said,

1. the forward is not there
2. the chapter's are not labeled except the first one
3. and the audio is poorly edited. For example, I could here people in the background of Danny speaking, like they were helping him pronounce a word correctly. And I could often tell when they took a break and picked it back up because it was often jarring.
4. and to be honest, after going through the book, I felt like a pdf with some visual aids would have been very helpful. (I know this is the audio book lol but if you go through the book you will understand what I mean.)

That stuff is all computer/editing problems. the actual content itself is life changing and extremely well laid out. I will definitely be listening to this one again despite my negative observations. I would recommend this to anyone especially if you are a parent or in any form of leadership or are under any form of leadership. it's so good.

Great book on relating to people when dealing with issues.

Some people technical issues with recording but the. Book has great insight into bringing people into the fullness of God’s Love and our relationships with each other.

revolutionary book

I loved the book. Danny has very sound teaching and I had many revelations of the difference between the old and new covenants through this book. I consider Danny one of my mentors even though I don't know him personally. he has helped my spirituality immensely, so I am glad to have him as the narrator. there were some quality control issues with the audio and it was slightly upsetting but not enough to take off a star. I also bought the hard copy of the book to go over content again.

Incredible book.

This book delivers the true meaning of the word repentance and it was no less that life changing for me. One of the best books I've read in a long time.

Exactly what we need

This book gave me direction and answers for the Ty of my heart to be loved and accepted. I have tried to find a way to make life work on my own terms for decades. I realize now that freedom and love come only through the Father’s ways. Those ways are frequently countercultural. Only by letting go of my need to punish myself and others will I find true life as God intended it to be.

Freedom bringing

This book can help you unravel your bondage to sin so you can see a path to true healing and freedom through Christ in a way I never understood before. A must read.

Worth reading.

The thesis isn't bad.
however, word to the wise
the author spends half the time trying to demonstrate how the ethical insights he presents here might be made commensurate with a fundamentalist biblical dogmatism and by running these circles of rationalization often posits unnecessary side arguments which are utterly "yikes" to anyone not drinking the protestant kool-aide.
Alfie Kohn's Punished by Rewards or Sered's Until We Reckon or Nussbaum's Anger and Forgiveness provide same basic thesis from different (and depending on the reader, better) position and language.
