This book describes boot camp and infantry training. He is placed in tanks, something he had never dreamed of serving in. He then ventures on a Mediterranean cruise. He becomes a sergeant and a tank commander and is sent to Vietnam. His first full day in Vietnam almost became his last. For Tracks: Memoirs of a Vietnam Veteran, Clyde was chosen as one of the 50 great writers you should be following by an author show. This is his first book of 10. His fourth book won a bronze medal.
