Description

As president of the United States, Jack Ryan has faced many challenges, but none have been as personal as this, and never has he been this helpless in the face of evil in the latest entry in Tom Clancy's number one New York Times best-selling series.

Father Pat West, SJ, was a buddy of the young Jack Ryan when they were both undergraduates at Boston College. Father West left a comfortable job in the philosophy department at Georgetown to work with the poor in Indonesia. Now, he's been arrested and accused of blasphemy against Islam.

President Ryan is desperate to rescue his old friend, but he can't move officially against the Indonesians. Instead, he relies on the Campus team to find out who is framing the priest.

There's one other twist to the story. President Ryan discovers a text on his private cell phone from the priest warning about a coming attack against America....

There is a lot going on in this suspense thriller!

In his third series novel Marc Cameron continues to do a very credible job with the Jack Ryan series. Like other recent series novels the the bad guys are the Communist Chinese. President Ryan, Dr. Cathy Ryan, Mary Pat Foley, Jack Junior, John Clark, Ding Chavez and other Campus members all play a significant part in this complex novel that easily moves between the US, Indonesia, and China. The role of computer software technology in the form of artificial intelligence is a major aspect in the plot. Overall CODE OF HONOR is a very worthwhile addition to Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan series. Scott Brick narrates superbly. Highly recommended!!

not up to 5 star story

main issue is that the various subplots ended too abruptly: as of the book had a target length and the author had to contrive a quick end to meet the limit.

Love The Series...But

I have always loved this series and this is a good installment. The only thing I don’t like is the Authors side tracking to explain the minutia detail of character backgrounds. This takes away from the story, adds nothing and slows things down. The first third of the book suffers from this...then the rest is fast paced fun. Maybe it’s just me...but more story and less minutia would be awesome.

The gang’s back

I enjoyed having more of the team action back in this book. And I liked having Jack Sr. playing a stronger role than Jr. I tend to see Jr. as a bit whiney, immature-ish. It didn’t seem to have the intensity of Clancy’s originals, he will always be missed. But it moved along well. Good addition to the series.

A great effort by all

Scott Brick is once again in top form, as is the author. Already ordered the new one coming out next year.

this is nothing compared to former books, a pity

very thin story, what a waste of time. topic is interesting, but the plot is just as flat and bad you might get from the latest donald duck adventure as said: a pity !!!

Yes! Not a jack Jr. romance!

Good old fashioned spying. No romance for Jack Jr. quite a change over the last couple of books. Much appreciated return of the rest of the campus team.

very disappointing.

The story jumped around too much. Plot seemed shallow to me. No real depth. I usually LOVE Clancy novels, but not this.

Somewhat confusing action

But good computer virus description and military aircraft maneuvers. Can we get a new narrator? He's getting a little old.
