    Description

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of The Truth About Keeping Secrets by Savannah Brown.

Sydney's dad is the only psychiatrist for miles around their small Ohio town.

    He is also unexpectedly dead.

Is Sydney crazy, or is it kind of weird that her dad - a guy whose entire job revolved around other peoples' secrets - crashed alone, with no explanation?

And why is June Copeland, homecoming queen and the town's golden child, at his funeral?

As the two teenagers grow closer in the wake of the accident, it's clear that not everyone is happy about their new friendship.

But what is picture-perfect June still hiding? And does Sydney even want to know?

The Truth About Keeping Secrets is a gripping, voice-led high school thriller.

This book sneaks up on you!

Surprisingly existentialist and wonderfully imagistic, Savannah has written an inclusive small town thriller that doesn't fall prey to overused high school archetypes <3 loved it a lot

    I couldn’t stop listening!

Savannah Brown’s writing is filled with enticingly realistic imagery. I can feel the crunch of snow beneath my feet, and the pain and heartache isn’t overdone. Although I was initially interested in this book for the “murder mystery” aspect, the nuggets of wisdom surrounding how the main character coped with her grief made me love this work. I can’t wait to see what else Savannah Brown’s mind creates in the future!

how fortunate that this book exists

Savannah Brown has managed to keep me on my toes for well over 9 hours. I am immensely grateful for all the thoughts and feelings she has managed to put into words, I think of her as a friend even though I am but a stranger.

Slow and predictable but worth the listen

the story for me was slow and predictable but it does a really good job of describing how grief can just cling to someone and warp how one views self and other.

I don't think it's accurate to call this a mystery because it's painfully obvious to the reader/listener who the stalker is but I think the point is the main character can't see it because she so wrapped up in her grief.

Anyways, definitely pick this one up if your looking for a diverse cast and accurate and blunt description of grief.

Great emotional highs, easy to follow

loved the emotional elements to it, be aware of content warnings before you go into it.
story was way to follow, and continued without much lost
    ***possible spoilers ahead***
only gripe is some of the parts where Sidney believes their father was murdered didn't necessarily give full awareness of why they reached that belief.

    A good distraction.

I usually stick to sci-fi or fantasy books but took a chance on this particular book. The writing was exceptional and seem to flow in a way that wasn’t too boring nor too wordy. I especially like how she depicts emotions, if there any fault with the book, I would have to say that it was too short.

    This book quietly overtook me

This book made me feel. Not in a loud crescendo sort of way, but in a seeping sort of quiet presence. I couldn’t stop listening even though the material isn’t comfortable. I haven’t felt grief like Sydney has before, but I’ve felt a lot of the same things. I’d especially recommend the book to high schoolers. The writing is good. The descriptions of existential horror are poignant but somehow cathartic. It’s just, nice to see feelings usually so hidden and lonely just out there. It’s Melancholic, hoping, real, and lovely. I’ll remember this one.

I loved this book to the core, the story, the characters, every bit of detail no matter how small. Truly fantastic.

Not normally my genre, but this is phenomenal.

I am not normally a fan of Young-Adult categorized books. I find the battles of the youth to be too far removed from where I am at in life now. This, however, approaches common elements of youth with the depth of a more mature perspective. Everything from grief to love is touched upon, and described in visceral detail. I, a man of less emotion than I would like, teared up on several occasions hearing the plight of the main character and her desire to push through the plot. I highly recommend this text to both young adults and adults alike.

I look forward to Savannah Brown's next works with eagerness. Her narration was spectacular, and a big part of why I enjoyed the text.

    Great

So well and beautifully written and narrated. So raw, real and honest, so near to my some of my own experiences. Great job!
