It's the late 1970s and city league softball - and partying - reign supreme. Talented Jo Jo Van Dyne and company struggle to right themselves from a winless first season, in part by renaming themselves the Streakers because their first year team name, the Hard Machine, hadn't exactly brought them any kind of luck. This time around, though, the early twenties team has high hopes. This is a year where, they all truly believe, anything can happen. And who knows...maybe it will.
A thrilling and realistic ride back to the days when soda had sugar, rock music owned the airwaves and the soap opera underpinnings of a typical suburban town were just beginning to push out from behind the picture-perfect images of suburbia. The first non-paranormal, non-SF, non-fantasy effort from writer Kevin Candela, The Streakers is a wondrous and inspiring look back at a very special time by someone who was there to witness it all.
