Description
Does a curse only work if you believe it does?
Chosen to be a priestess from childhood, Athena knows everything about aligning her energy with the universe and spreading hope, healing, and wisdom to people. But her inner balance is disturbed when Finn shows up on her doorstep.
The large, annoyingly flirtatious man kept her imprisoned in the past, and now demands she lift the spell she cast on him. Rather than explain to him that the spell wasn't real, Athena sees her chance of teaching him a lesson in karma and makes demands of her own. Finn will allow her full power over him for five full days or live with the curse forever.
Contains mature themes.

THE SNARKY SEDUCER
I liked the first book in this series so much that i thought i’d give one of the sequels a try, and i chose this one because the two main characters seemed like they’d be particularly interesting---Athena, a beautiful, self-composed priestess/spiritual guide and Finn a good-natured, friendly, (for a Northman) character. However, this book disappointed me and I’m planning to return it because i’ll never listen to it again as the two main characters both behaved like vengeful adolescents for 2/3rds of the book, which was completely out of character with who they were in the first book. Finn, in particular, was relentlessly snarky, cynical and sarcastic---chapter after chapter. Some of that would have been okay but it went on too long and wore down my patience. The last 10 chapters were interesting, after they finally had sex, fell in love, and got down to trying to help Khan and Pearl save the tenuous peace their respective countries had previously established from lapsing into a disastrous war after an earthquake destroys the wall that protects the MotherLand from being invaded by Northmen who would like free license to degrade all the protective measures the MotherLand has created to restore the toxic environment, human and animal rights, and peaceful relations. A big dilemma as these two opposite cultures--the North, inhabited mostly by men and ruled by masculine principles; and the MotherLand, inhabited by more women than men and ruled by nurturing feminine principles---are completely opposite and yet desperately need each other for the survival of the human race. Sound familiar?

Interesting social commentary disguised as romance.
I am truly enjoying this series. The world building is thoughtful and done without interrupting the flow of the story, which is an accomplishment in itself. I do agree with other reviewers that Finn as a character was more developed and sympathetic than Athena. But that didn't distract from my enjoyment of the book. It's a strong series.

This is my favorite of the series.
Finally, I could see what was behind the flirtatious mask of Finn. A person's true self shows in harsh circumstances and Finn is truly a good and warm hearted man. It is very interesting that Finn and Magni are very close friends and Magni has so much to do with Finn's life. Athena's workshop was also very interesting and helpful. It might be wonderful if there is a book about her workshop. Athena is not only a great spiritual leader but also one of us, living her own life in our world. That's another good thing about Athena.

The Seducer got seduced
Finn wanted the curse that Athena placed on him lifted. He gave her five days equal to the five days he took from her when he kidnapped her. She used it as a time to educate him on relationships and how karma works. It was funny how Finn related to her. It shows that men are the same in the 25th century as they are in the 21st century. Neither one saw them falling in love with each other but that is what happens.
Not only are Finn and Athen dealing with their life but so is Laura and Magnie. The entire continent is in for a new awakening and is facilitating a reunion of two that have been separated for 400 years. This is really upsetting the apple cart for the Northlandlers who are anxious to be able to have wives but the Motlanders, who need to relearn their old opinions of the Northmen, To make matters worst, a big secret is revealed that will really upset people on both sides of the wall.
This was a well plotted and written book. I enjoyed it and recommend it.

Finn!
So far this one is my favorite. Finn's backstory has a much better story line that the previous books. His story helps you understand the mask that he wears and why. Athena and Finn are the perfect couple. I still love everything about this series and the narration.

Much better...
I have several more to go, but at least this one saved me from scrapping the whole series. I only hope the next in the series keeps this momentum.

Amazing
So so good, my second favorite. No other woman drama, no huge separation, enough drama and conflict to keep you guessing but not so much it feels infused to be drama. I’m also a huge sucker for hero’s rescuing/ caring for heroines and this book DELIVERED. Also felt like Finn showed more emotion more willingly than others which was refreshing. So so so good

Loved this Story!
This was an amazing book. I love the characters and the continuing story of the N-men. Each book is different. I can’t wait to read/listen to more books in this series!
