White is Bret Easton Ellis's first work of nonfiction. Already the bad boy of American literature, from Less Than Zero to American Psycho, Ellis has also earned the wrath of right-thinking people everywhere with his provocations on social media, and here he escalates. Eschewing convention, he embraces views that will make many in literary and media communities cringe, as he takes aim at anti-Trump fixation, coastal elites, corporate censorship, Hollywood, identity politics, Generation Wuss, "woke" cultural watchdogs, and more.

Aged 13, Theo Decker, son of a devoted mother and a reckless, largely absent father, survives an accident that otherwise tears his life apart. Alone and rudderless in New York, he is taken in by the family of a wealthy friend. He is tormented by an unbearable longing for his mother, and down the years clings to one thing that reminds him of her: a small, strangely captivating painting that ultimately draws him into the criminal underworld.

Twenty years ago, it was as if someone turned on a light. The future blazed into existence with each deliberate word that William Gibson laid down. The winner of Hugo, Nebula, and Philip K. Dick Awards, Neuromancer didn't just explode onto the science fiction scene - it permeated into the collective consciousness, culture, science, and technology.Today, there is only one science fiction masterpiece to thank for the term "cyberpunk," for easing the way into the information age and Internet society.

Description
Incisive, controversial and startlingly funny, The Rules of Attraction examines a group of affluent students at a small, self-consciously bohemian liberal-arts college on America’s East Coast.
Lauren, who changes the man in her bed even more often than she changes course, is dating Victor but sleeping with Sean.
Sean - cool, ambivalent and deeply cynical - might be in love with Lauren, but he’s not going to let that stop him from bedding Paul.
Paul, as shrewd as he is passionate, is Lauren’s ex-lover and the final point in this curious triangle.
From the author of American Psycho, Bret Easton Ellis' The Rules of Attraction is a breathtaking tale of sex, expectation, desire and frustration.

Bret Easton Ellis par excellance
Listening to Rules of Attraction over and over again, never gets boring and I find new story-connections again and again.
I love the cross-references between the different Ellis books: Sean Bateman from Rules of Attraction is the brother of Patrick Bateman aka. American Psycho who debuts in this book.
Victor is one of main characters in Glamourama and even Clay whom you might know from Sub Zero has a chapter in this book before he becomes the Hollywood anti-hero of Imperial Bedrooms.
I only miss Paul and Lauren in the other books, I liked both characters in the movie. I hope Ellis decides to write a novel about what happened to them after their time in 'Camden'. Overall the book is a well told exaggerated story emphasizing the carelessness of a student life.
