The Red Letters: A Study of the Words Spoken by Jesus Christ

Jesus this and Jesus that. His name is everywhere—invoked in arguments, used as a curse, or reshaped into a tolerant, accepting figure that fits modern tastes. But who is the real Jesus? The one who existed before time, who is immortal and unchanging? There is no "My Jesus." There is only Jesus—the historical, divine Savior whose words carry unmatched authority.

Frustrated by widespread biblical illiteracy and the casual claim that "Jesus never said anything about [issue X]," author Chandler Rivinius compiled this unique edition. Drawing from a respected chronological framework, The Red Letters presents every word Jesus spoke in the Gospels—direct quotes in red—without added commentary. The goal: Let Jesus speak for Himself, minimizing friction so listeners can encounter His teachings clearly and powerfully.

Using the accessible, public-domain World English Bible, this book organizes His words chronologically and structures them in three complementary sections:

Section 1: Harmonized Red-Letter Narrative — A condensed, chronological reading of Jesus' ministry, knitting together the Gospels with only the minimum context needed to understand the sequence. Redundancy is reduced (acknowledging Jesus likely repeated key teachings), focusing on the most complete versions of His sayings to create a fluid "Gospel of Jesus."Section 2: Isolated Red Letters by Gospel — Every direct quote of Jesus, presented Gospel-by-Gospel with no surrounding narrative—pure focus on what He said.

Section 3: Parallel Canonical Gospels — A true side-by-side comparison of the four accounts, preserving the full richness of Scripture.

This is not a replacement for the Bible—it's a tool to draw you deeper into the Gospels. The full Scriptures are infinitely richer, but if the sheer volume or traditional layers have made Jesus' words feel distant, The Red Letters clears the path.
