    Absolute Trash

Absolute garbage compared to the first book. I went in hoping for a continuation of the story I loved, and I got a complete 180 with so many plot holes i couldn't wrap my head around it. Its utter garbage. I couldn't even finish it. I got halfway through before giving up.

Loved it can’t wait for book 3!

I just finished the story and can’t handle the fact that book 3 is not on audible. Is there any plans in the works to make it?

    Good, but *cringe*

The book was good, but not one of my favorites. If I hear the word “nostrils” used in this series again for the millionth time, there will be a permanent cringe on my face. In the first book, it was “lips parted”.

Something to pass the time, but not amazing

Not a bad read. I will continue the series but it will not be a go to of mine. Zea is not my idea of a heroine in her own right. Throughout the series she’s more of a lovesick puppy not really concerned about much else beyond the well being of her love interest (even when she is in mortal danger). A good something to pass the time but nothing I’ll wait on pins and needles for. I wouldn’t be surprised is Cordelia Castel is a pseudonym for a man. It didn’t feel like a strong woman wrote by another woman.

    Good Stuff

looking forward to the next audiobook whenever it comes out. Only complaint is that the author never let's a good situation settle. A constant change from calm and peaceful to dangerous and terrible get annoying. But really it is a good story that is acted well.

    Couldn’t put it down!

Like the first one in the series, I couldn’t put it down until the end. I even found it pulling me from sleep in the middle of the night, to see what was going to happen next. Now, I’m desperate for the next audiobook, and super-sad to see that it’s not out yet! 😭

    Cant Catch a Break

Sooo, I love the concept of this book, but this poor girl can’t catch a break. She is so powerless and very different than most main characters in a kind of pathetic way. Where most characters have spunk and courage, she whimpers and whines and always says how powerless she is. I’m almost convinced that this is a parody of your run of the mill YA dystopian novel... or maybe that’s just the excuse that I want to give this book. It’s also interesting to have such a clueless love interest. The prince is very ignorant and his character development shallow. The book is made up of variations of the same theme. A powerless heroine, clueless prince, overdone evil queen, and a Effie Trinket wanna be on repeat through countless murder attempts, slanderous reports, and cheesy romance. Great for a laugh.

Main character can be annouying towards the climax

I enjoyed this book. My only complaint was how annoying the main character was in all the whining towards the end of the book. It's like she learns one lesson but then sinks back into self pity and disparity. The next book should be interesting.
