This 2-in-1 box set collects both installments in Liv Zander's Pale Court duet: King of Flesh and Bone and Queen of Rot and Pain. This duology is a dark-fantasy romance featuring a ruthless man, a woman who can't escape his love, and a Happily Ever After. This world contains dark themes, violence, loss, and elements of horror some may find disturbing. What this book doesn't contain is a herobecause villains do it better. I read the first book, King of Flesh and Bone on kindle. The second, Queen of Rot and Pain, I listened to the audiobook. The female narrator was OK but the male narrator lacked energy. I depicted Enosh as vibrant, dynamic. This guy portrayed none of that. The opposite, actually. I wish I'd read it like the first, which I happily give 5 stars to.

if you're looking for Dark, these books are good candidates. I really enjoyed the character arcs, particularly that of Ada. The author managed the transformations, while maintaining the integrity of the characters, who were well fleshed out and believable.

I'd be interested in a Yarin or Eilam's story.

Well written dark fantasy romance
