Description
"You have an older sister, she ran away years ago when you were born. We thought she had died. But - " Eva’s stepmother’s voice trembled. "She’s just turned up alive."
The phone rings. What Eva doesn’t realize is that the call will signal the end of what she knows to be true. The end of trusting her family. And the end of everything keeping her safe....
The phone call is from a hospital hundreds of miles away. A woman has been admitted with a serious head injury, saying she’s Eva’s older sister. A sister Eva never knew she had. Whose name - Nancy - has never once been mentioned by her parents.
It seems impossible. Could the two people who brought Eva up have lied to her for her whole life? With her dad’s memory fading and her beloved stepmother unable to leave him, when the hospital insists a family member must come to collect Nancy, Eva realizes that she’s the only person who can go.
Perhaps at long last this is someone who can give her some answers, though. About what happened to her real mother on the day Eva was born. About why Nancy left, and no one ever mentioned her name again. And about why she never came home....
Eva hopes Nancy will tell her the truth about her family. But what she is about to find is far darker than she could ever imagine.
A deliciously dark and twisty tale of deception, secrets, and family ties, The Missing Sister is perfect for fans of The Girl on the Train, The Woman in the Window, and The Family Upstairs.

In Awe!
This is in my opinion one hell of a good audiobook!! I'm looking forward to listening to more from this author... I would be very happy if the narrators of every book did as amazingly well as they did with this one!

Mixed review
I found a lot of the story somewhat unbelievable. The two sisters in the story made so many stupid and dangerous choices that they became quite unlikable. However if you can get past this, the second half of the book builds in suspense and is a pretty good listen. The narrator does a good job of the different voices.

Needs a different title
What a painful violent story about murder, child emotional abuse, and deceit. It started out creepy and scary. The division of the story into 3 parts provided great background information. Answered several questions. Very good ending for such a sad tale. Narrator was excellent.
