The book is written in an encouraging and relatable tone with insights from the authors’ decades of experience.
The Leadership Continuum describes seven key facets of leadership and how each facet is actually expressed across a continuum, which a leader needs to understand and have the ability to move across (adjusting their style of approach), depending on the leadership situation. The book contains a self-assessment section, in which listeners can assess their natural tendencies and then review the optimal leader response and rationale.
The assessment section enables the listener to discover their own stylistic biases or blind spots and identify where to focus their development work. Finally, the recommendations section is where listeners can learn the “when” and “how” for improving their ability to move fluidly across the continuum for maximum effectiveness.
