Travel with Dean Fraser to meet the good working folk of Lancashire through the ages and touch base with the present. Born in Lancashire some time ago, and with a fascination for social history, in Dean's first collection he tells many poetic tales of his own forebears. A family man enlists in the Chorley Pals, against her will a teenage girl finds herself grafting on a working canal boat in the 1920's and we meet a trader on Preston market in the depths of a freezing winter. We take walks in Blackpool and stand alongside the poet as he performs his tales that rhyme sometimes, across the Red Rose County.

LANCASHIRE LIVING MAGAZINE said "These observational poems are thought provokingly deep, sometimes historical, other times contemporary and often simply laugh out loud funny! The Rich Industrial History of Lancashire provided much inspiration for the poet, as did the landscape and yet above all we discover stories of real people made large as life through the power of words."
