    Description

Arnold Spivey and his mother have opened up their old farmhouse to tourists who enjoy hiking the sprawling 60,000-acre mountain wilderness area several miles down the road. A woman’s skull is discovered by a lost hiker. It puzzles the local authorities because nobody in the area has been reported missing. Where did it come from?

When Olivia Thompson disappears on a hiking trip with her new boyfriend, it’s up to her older sister, Rachel, to figure out what happened. Disturbing new facts about Olivia’s companion confirm Rachel’s fears that her sister may be in grave danger. Alone in a strange town, she discovers the only person who has stepped forward to help her may be hiding a dark secret himself. What secrets can she learn from The House on Turner Lane? Will she learn them in time to save her sister?

    Somewhat predictable

Enjoyed the book but story line was predictable. Narrator was good with good clarity and enjoyed the different voices for each character.

    Turner Lane

This was a good read. The story was similar to others, but with a modern twist. I enjoyed it! Jack de Golla was a fine narrator. I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.

    House on Turner Ln

When Olivia goes missing on a hiking trip her sister Rachel has to put the pieces together to find out what happened to her. Arnold convinced his disabled mom to put two of their empty rooms up for rent to earn them extra cash, and him some extra footage, and who knows what else in the house. This can be a creepy book and the awesome voices of the character if you have the audio done by the wonderful voice actor Jack de Golia makes it even creeper in parts, he does such a greet job on all of the characters. But at the heart of the book is a murder mystery that you want to help Rachel with but can't. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat and rooting for the good guys through all of the action and suspense, and the worst part is you can have a Arnold in your neighborhood and never know it.

    good but not great

this book was fairly predictable and some of the voices the narrator used grated on my nerves a bit but all in all it was a decent listen and kept my attention

    Scary at times

We have heard this story over and over--mom he's a nice guy, he's got a job and we're going to spend the weekend hiking. I'll be fine don't worry. Oh those famous last words -'don't worry'. Well the weekend is over and her daughter hasn't come home, mom never saw or even met the guy. None of her friends have his cell phone number and none of them think he is so great. Her daughter doesn't answer her phone, where is she? The couple went to a B&B and that is when the problems really begin. The son of the house is creepy and the mom is in a wheel chair, the boy friend is a jerk and there isn't reliable cell phone service. Its the old thriller movie standard line---don't go into the basement, but those girl's never listen.

    Vacation gone wrong

I waited a few days to review this because I wanted to give it some thought. Overall I did enjoy the book even though the narrator made several of the characters sound like Casey Kasem or Mr. Burns from the Simpsons. Once I got past that, I did think this was a good story and I’m glad I listened to it.
