    The absolute best narration you could hope for. Andy Serkis gives life to the legendary work of Tolkien. The voice acting, the singing, the rhythm. You get the lot.

    Andy Serkis's narration is absolutely amazing, he puts so much life into each and every character. genuinely one of my favourite audiobook ever just based on him. i saw some people say the singing was not the best but i honestly didn't mind it at all. overall 10/10 would listen 1000 times again.

    This has to be, by far, one of the most if not the most amazing performance by one single reader. Andy Serkis does an amazing job at impersonating each character's own voice and accent, let alone fantastic creatures like Gollum, Beorn and so many more. A "must-listen". Tolkien's masterpiece, which is beautifully written and takes you to another world entirely, is certainly done justice to in this audiobook.

    The singing was not the best but Andy Serkis gave it it's all so it works.

    And Andy Serkis has such a range that every character feels very alive.

    I just loved hearing The Hobbit. I've only read it several times in my own langage (french) and i wanted to hear it in English, to practice… I do not regret it ! Andy was amazing and i was so impatient to listen to the Gollum part, and i wasn't disappointed.

    Qui aime Tolkien ne peut qu'aimer ce livre. Andy Serkis est un narrateur extraordinaire qui donne vie à tous les personnages en changeant sa voix avec une dextérité sans pareille. Le fait qu'il ait incarné la voix de Gollum dans les films d'après Tolkien nous met vraiment dans l'ambiance. Ce livre est un pur régal.
