The emperor entrusts Bulatov with healing his son, Alexander, and Mikhail sets about making a real man out of the heir to the throne. He sends Alexander on dangerous missions, and instills in him a taste for proper nutrition, that is, stewed meat, in the process making it popular throughout the Empire.
The path they embark on leads to the Dominion, where they battle demons, and then to the so-called Upside Down . . . If that's not enough, from there they end up in the most interesting place on the planet.
