Heart-rending story of a mother and her daughter fighting to survive during the Great Depression told for once from the female perspective. Images of Dorothy Lange's haunting photos are constantly in mind as the story evolves. The book is read brilliantly and the interviews with the author and the reader at the end of the audible version are also excellent bonuses. Fully recommend it.
