Twelve-year-old Orion believes adventure is something you only read about in his grandmother's old books. But when he and his buzzing robot sidekick, Sparky, discover a secret star-chart in the attic, they find a location scrubbed from every map: Fae. Ignoring the "FORBIDDEN" warning, Orion "borrows" his parents' ship and crash-lands on a world of impossible wonders. The planet is wrapped in a glowing lavender fog, with silent cities carved from pearl and forests of giant, glowing mushrooms. But the Fae are real, and they are not the fairies from bedtime stories. The planet is dying. A mysterious black tower is draining its magical heart, and terrifying Shadow-Winged Scouts patrol the skies. The Fae, led by the icy Thorn Queen, are trapped and mistrustful. To save the planet, Orion must use the one thing that can heal it: his ship's power core. But using it means destroying his only way home. Orion must make an impossible choice: save this new world, or ever see his own again?
