Beth’s parents have always and only wanted to keep her safe and warn her of the risks the city holds. But Beth feels stifled. Now that she’s started college, she relishes the freedom college-life offers. One ordinary afternoon, between classes, Beth’s guarded world shatters. Three masked men storm a bank, kidnap Beth, Emily, and Kathrin, and hold them hostage deep in Washington State’s wilderness.
But one of the criminals doesn’t fit. Glenn. Despite Glenn’s protests, the kidnappers force him to help them escape the law. Watchful and strangely protective, Glenn puts himself between the women and harm. That’s when Beth begins to question all that she believes about people. While Emily’s brave rebelliousness intensifies the risks, Kathrin’s gentle faith holds them together. Afraid the captors plan to keep them permanently silent, Beth tries to muster up courage. Survival will require more bravery than she’s ever felt. She has to decide. Will trusting Glenn save them all… or devastate her?
