"Oh...my...God."
Once I arrived at that face, I could go no further. She had a graceful neck that blossomed into such a face. It would take an entire library of books and the combined languages of every tribe on Earth to describe.
"You...you look human? I...I mean...I guess I was...expecting...I don't...I don't know...a cat?"
"Are you pleased?" She dropped her eyes, then looked back up, titling her head, still smiling flirtatiously.
She was a goddess....
"You already know the answer to that...but... I'm confused, too? I mean...you were a male cat...weren't you?"
She giggles...and now it sounds like a human giggle, but still with a trace of Andrew around the edges. She begins caressing my cheeks with her thumb and forefinger, my chin in the soft palm of her left hand.
"You and I were meant to be, old friend, I knew that from the moment I first looked in your eyes. And then, when you named me 'Andrew', now that was of-the-chain awesome. When my real name is Andrea? Who else would have seen that but you? Even I did not see that one coming. The ancient rhythms of Mother Time are never wrong. And the year we spent apart..."
"Year! Try nine years!" I couldn't help it. A tear leaked out before I could stop it. "I missed you...so much. And I didn't think...I mean..."
