Visser One is constructing an enormous new Yeerk pool in an effort to feed the Yeerk reinforcements landing on Earth every day. The visser is blasting giant holes in the ground, obliterating whatever buildings, land, and people happen to get in his way. The subtle invasion is over. And the human population is now aware of the awful reality happening on their planet.
Jake and the other Animorphs want to seize the pool ship and stop Visser One from constructing the new feeding ground. It would be a huge conquest—possibly the end of the war. But they can't do it alone. They enlist the help of U.S. military troops. Unfortunately, the general doesn't come through for them, and Jake and the others end up trapped in what will soon be the new Yeerk pool. It looks like there is no way out-unless help comes in the most unexpected form. The Taxxons.
