Under a sweltering July full moon, the daughter of a Russian vodka magnate is savagely murdered in Washington, DC. Detective Captain Alexander Strange arrives at the crime scene and knows he's seen this brutal style of killing before—25 years ago, as a Force Recon Marine in a Central American jungle.
Strange also knows this is only the beginning. During the autopsy, the Chief Medical Examiner is wracked by a seizure he claims was caused by the murdered woman. At the hospital, Strange suddenly feels an unmistakable connection to a woman he's never met before. And every time Strange comes close to the killer, he can only see through the killer's eyes.
