Feeling overwhelmed when it comes to building your professional network?

I'm not looking for a job you say. I learned that it's important to get to know people and to have a network before you really need to use it.

Back in 2013 I was suddenly faced with the prospect of switching careers from something that I truly enjoyed, luckily for me someone in my network (all be it on the opposite coast) offered me a job and we moved from Boston to California. At the time my professional network stood at about 100 people but I learned the importance of networking and growing your network ahead of time.
