Description

Paige Watts is the ultimate stage mother. The daughter of Hollywood royalty, Paige channels her own acting dreams into making her daughter, Emma, a star. By the age of nine, Emma is playing a central role in a hit TV show. Then everything is shattered by unforeseeable tragedy.

Now, Emma is living with her Aunt Whitney, who had chosen a very different path from her sister’s. Whitney was always the studious older sister, hating the cult of celebrity that enveloped their childhood. Instead, she is a psychiatrist who lives for her work and enjoys a no-strings-attached love affair with a wealthy venture capitalist. But at a moment’s notice, Whitney drops everything to help her niece.

Once famous, outgoing, and charismatic, Emma is now a shadow of her former self - without speech, without memory, lost and terrified. But with her Aunt Whitney’s help, along with a team of caregivers and doctors, Emma begins to find her way, starting her young life all over again - and changing the lives of everyone around her.

Emotionally gripping and richly involving, Silent Night explores how the heart has mysterious healing powers of its own and how blessings happen when we think all is lost.

In a word....Boring

I don't write reviews, but this book was so dull. What a predictable, boring story line.
Narration was fine. If you need something to put you to sleep, buy this.
Otherwise.......next please!

First time Danielle Steel read for me..BORING!

I admit I didn’t finish it because I got bored. It was very repetitive and other than the accident nothing really happened, just the same dialog over and over. Sorry Danielle Steel lovers, I can’t say I’ll be reading any more of her books.

Cliche

Hadn't read Danielle in a few years. Was hoping her storyline wouldn't be so predictable, but as usual, you can figure out the whole book as soon as you start reading it. Plus, the narrator was so boring. Most of his presentation was monotone. Almost put me to sleep while I was driving.

Not one of her best books

I usually love Danielle Steele books but was a little disappointed in this one. Very repetitive regards to what the story was about and a little on the boring side. But won’t stop me from reading Danielle Steele.

Last DS book I read?

These books could be cut in half if the author didn’t spend so much time repeating herself.
The storyline was interesting, but in my opinion, DS needs to quit churning out so many books and make the ones she does write, a little meatier.

Decent book<br />

I usually love Daniele Steele books. Sometimes the book starts out really well, then it seems like she's in a rush to finish and the last half of the book is unsatisfactory.

Way too predictable

This is my first Danielle Steel novel so I don’t know if this is how her writing usually is. But I thought the story was too predictable and not very challenging. Things were repeated over and over. If you’ve read the book jacket you can probably skip the whole first chapter.

I enjoyed the book, even though it made me
cry. The sign of a good book.

Beautiful!!

I never want Danielle’s stories to end! They’re such a wonderful escape! They always describe women of substance that endure life’s challenges with kindness and grace.

I am so curious as to why she always has male narrators though? They do a great job, but, male voices don’t really translate well for a woman’s voice. Odd.
