    Description

A new short story by New York Times best-selling thriller writer Ben Coes — with time running out, Dewey Andreas is the last hope for a prominent kidnapping victim.

The newly sworn in vice president of the United States has a problem. Her son, off in college, doesn't care for his security detail. So when spring break comes around, he slips away from his bodyguard, picks up his best friend, and heads to Mexico for an intended week of sun, sand, women, and hoped-for debauchery. But when he arrives at the airport, a team of well-armed kidnappers grab both him and his friend and escape. Now they're demanding that an exorbitant ransom be paid in only a few hours - and if it's not, both boys will be killed.

Dewey Andreas, CIA operative and former Delta, happens to be in Mexico, taking some time away and helping friends Katie Fox and Rob Tacoma with a private job. Hoping to relax, Andreas is now the only hope these two young men have of surviving their misadventure. But Mexico is a big country and, before anything else, Dewey has to find the missing boys. Even then, it's a race against the clock, with a highly trained group of vicious men waiting at the other end.

An original Dewey Andreas short story by best seller Ben Coes.

Over too soon!!! Leaves you wanting more!

This is a very good very short story that makes me want more.
The new Vice President's son slips away from his protection with his friend. They head off to Mexico and are kidnapped very shortly after. Just so happens that Dewey is in Mexico. Kind of makes you feel sorry for the kidnappers!
Fast paced, felt like I started the story and it was over. Can't wait for Bloody Sunday, Coes next book due out July 31!
Ari Fliakos does a great job narrating.
    RECOMMENDED.

...would have been a great full novel!

This was definitely one of the best short stories I’ve listened to. Love Ari Fliakis as the narrator and hats off to Ben Coes for a very entertaining short story. It definitely left me wanting more!

    Good very short story!

SHOOTING GALLERY packs a lot of action into 75 minutes. I suspect the story is intended to introduce the new US VP for Coes' Bloody Sunday which will be released the last day of July.

    NOT written by Ben Coes

Dewey is at the top of my all-time favorite badass list. This novella, however, is just plain awful. The plot is feeble and transparent, and Dewey is portrayed as a below average street cop.
I paid 94 cents for this novella, but it's true value is less than zero. The narration is almost as lousy as the narrative.
This clearly was not written by Ben Coes.

    ANOTHER ACTION PACKED WINNER!

Dewey kicking the bad guys asses again. He’s here, he’ there, and this time he is winning the respect of a new madam Vice President. Loyal as always to the country he loves, and is willing to fight and if necessary die for.
If you like Dewey in the novels, you will love him in this short story, and say give me more.
    Keep them coming Mr. Coes.

    Ari an excellent replacement

Loved the old narrator but the voice of now finished Colt Racer Raynor of deceased author Dalton Fury series is a great choice! Great novella can’t wait for Bloody Sunday Coes is Top 2-3 in the thriller genre lots of action, along with Greaney and Kirsanow (latter is new look him up)!

    Why even write this.

Dewey has never accomplished anything that fast in all of the books. Not sure why this was even written. If they wanted to introduce the new VP just do it a new book. Anti climatic. Never learn who it was, yes a name, but why just for money. And how did they even know the kids were down there. We can all fill in the blanks but that’s not how Coes normally writes usually too much detail droning on and on. Only good thing was the narrator. They need to bring him back and get rid of jay snyder

Still not a bad read, but very bland

I can only give this short novella a 4 on 5 stars. The story seems to be designed to introduce a new US Vice President after the previous one was killed in book 7. To be honest, there isn't really much to the story. More important though is that this book is labelled as 7.5, yet in book 8 the new VP is not yet installed.
