What My Wife Taught Me About Life
“Phyllis was one of the most spectacular and magnificent human beings I have ever known. What a lover of God and people! What a loving woman who always believed in you and could challenge your socks off at any time!” Rick Richardson—friend; coworker; professor of evangelism and leadership, Wheaton College
Everyone Phyllis Le Peau met instantly knew she was a person of energy, love, and fun. Hundreds experienced her uncanny ability to make them feel like the only person in the room. She was so secure and grounded, she easily laughed loudly at her own mistakes and foibles.
While raised in a conservative Christian environment, she loved the world in all its multicolored beauty and embraced everyone she met as family. Her life profoundly touched many regarding career choices, self-confidence, and the ability to face life’s deepest challenges. Most of all she loved helping people fall in love with Jesus.
In this memoir Andrew, her husband of almost five decades, seeks to capture the life force of a woman who keeps bursting off the page with unselfconscious joy. Here is a story of someone who had so much to teach about love and laughter, and who teaches us still.
Phyllis Strong Le Peau (1944-2022) worked as an RN before joining the staff of Nurses Christian Fellowship. After her children grew, she spent twenty years with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship as an area director and regional evangelism coordinator. Her Bible study guides have sold over a million copies.
