The day seems perfectly ordinary... until Lauren doesn't come home.
Alice Halpern waits for her best friend at the playground where they always meet with their children in their comfortable Brooklyn neighborhood. But when Lauren fails to pick her son up from school, a normal day turns into a nightmare - and Alice begins to realize that nothing will ever be ordinary again.
The police desperately search for Lauren, who is nearly nine months pregnant. Alice, herself pregnant, realizes she's being followed and has the creeping fear that she and her unborn twins are in danger. As the investigation intensifies, Alice is shocked as her familiar world begins to unravel. And as new life grows within her, she must fight to save her family - and herself....

Katia Lief’sSeven Minutes to Noon begins in the world of hip Brooklyn mommies whose worries include iced coffee getting warm, eviction letters to their brownstones, and whether or not to sign up for pregnant pilates. Starting when Alice’s friend neglects to pick up her son from school and seemingly disappears, however, the tone becomes increasingly menacing.
Elisabeth Rodgers performs the audiobook, hitting the characterizations of the neighborhood’s parents and upping the tension as the heroine’s terror unfolds. You won't be able to stop listening to this suspenseful thriller that stays grounded in real-life Brooklyn families and attitudes while exploring the unthinkable.
