I've had the book in paperback for more than a decade and the story is one of my favourites. The characters, the plot, the themes... An adventure full of turbulence, thriller, plots and betrayals, gods and magic, humour and drama... At the same time, people facing a crisis and trying to claim an identity for themselves. I read it every year and I always find something new to grab my attention..

But the audio version... Rosie Jones is a true master of the craft. She has grasped the essence of each of the characters and she has managed to bring them fully to life. Even without the names, you can distinguish each character and you can also glimpse into parts of their characters that are left unsaid in the story. A remarkable story turned to a masterpiece!
