Description
The first novel in an explosive new series inspired by Robert Ludlum's Bourne universe, The Treadstone Resurrection introduces an unforgettable hero and the shadowy world that forged him....
Treadstone made Jason Bourne an unstoppable force, but he's not the only one.
Operation Treadstone has nearly ruined Adam Hayes. The top-secret CIA Black Ops program trained him to be an all but invincible assassin, but it also cost him his family and any chance at a normal life. Which is why he was determined to get out. Working as a carpenter in rural Washington state, Adam thinks he has left Treadstone in the past, until he receives a mysterious email from a former colleague, and soon after is attacked by an unknown hit team at his job site. Adam must regain the skills that Treadstone taught him - lightning reflexes and a cold conscience - in order to discover who the would-be killers are and why they have come after him now.
Are his pursuers enemies from a long-ago mission? Rival intelligence agents? Or, perhaps, forces inside Treadstone? His search will unearth secrets in the highest levels of government and pull him back into the shadowy world he worked so hard to forget.
Commentaires
“An intense and electrifying espionage adventure...a worthy addition to the Ludlum bookshelf.” (Mark Greaney, number one New York Times best-selling author of Mission Critical)
“This one would be prime thriller fare on its own, even without the Ludlum connection, and action fans will definitely want to stick around to see what Hayes gets up to next.” (Booklist)
“Joshua Hood crushes it, proving himself a worthy inheritor of the legacy.” (Jack Carr, former Navy SEAL sniper and author of True Believer)

overdrawn at the cliche atm
Although the story moves along smartly enough, the author(s) couldn't get a gold card and had to settle for the lowest-level account at the dead metaphor bank. There are no surprises in this book, and nothing interesting about the story-telling. Hey, have you heard the one about the two wolves fighting inside you? Yeah, me too. The master tracker in the jungle knew he was on the right track (ha) because the footprint had the brand name--Vibram--Knox's favorite. Oh, dear God. There isn't enough metaphorical tension to hold a sentence together, so the whole book is a constant let-dawn at the micro and macro level. The bullet wound felt like someone had hammered a nail through his flesh. No kidding. The thunder rumbled like a cannon; the cannon rumbled like thunder. Maybe this was written by a computer with 50-year-old software . . .

Unbelievable uninteresting and finally over
Cliché ridden with characters it’s hard to even care about. Perfect to fall asleep at night listening to it. Half the book is filled with extremely technical descriptions of obscure weaponry, the other half is filled with the main character using the weapons or being shot at with them. Completely unbelievable.

Idiotic story written by a twelve year old
I guess they needed all the product placements to pay the ghost writer. Dozens of weapons, all identifed in loving detail: Manufacturer, Model, Caliber, Options.
Impossible escapes are the norm and our hero is really fighting for Truth, Justice and the American Way.
Dumb.

Excellent
I just finished it. I have one very big complaint: it was too short 😥 I loved Adam and the issues he got himself into, I loved his humour. Looking forward to the next ones in the series! Congratulations on a great start to an exciting new series

It’s great entertainment.
If you were lucky enough to read the Bourne Identity when it came out in 1980, you’ll remember a great book. The Big-Guy-With-A-Gun Saves The World genre was new, at least to me & the writing was as much a pleasure to read as Steinbeck. Or so it seemed. Many Big-Guys have come onto the scene, Some like Reacher w/an interesting back story, part wandering hero (the Fugitive); part unwilling revenging angel- a truly new character. Mitch Rapp; Scott Harvard - the Gray Man et.al. Big-Guys each, are entertaining in their own way. But none are “literature”.
So if you want Ludlum, read Ludlum. Don’t hold your nose & trash this author. Leave your two stars, return the book & listen to Day of the Jackal. Let the rest of us enjoy it for what it is; a fun ride.
