À propos de ce contenu audio

The Stormlight Archive saga continues in Rhythm of War, the sensational fourth book in Brandon Sanderson's #1 New York Times bestselling series.

After forming a coalition of human resistance against the enemy invasion, Dalinar Kholin and his Knights Radiant have spent a year fighting a protracted, brutal war. Neither side has gained an advantage, and the threat of a betrayal by Dalinar's crafty ally Taravangian looms over every strategic move.

Now, as new technological discoveries by Navani Kholin's scholars begin to change the face of the war, the enemy prepares a bold and dangerous operation. The arms race that follows will challenge the very core of the Radiant ideals, and potentially reveal the secrets of the ancient tower that was once the heart of their strength.

At the same time that Kaladin Stormblessed must come to grips with his changing role within the Knights Radiant, his Windrunners face their own problem: As more and more deadly enemy Fused awaken to wage war, no more honorspren are willing to bond with humans to increase the number of Radiants. Adolin and Shallan must lead the coalition's envoy to the honorspren stronghold of Lasting Integrity and either convince the spren to join the cause against the evil god Odium, or personally face the storm of failure.

Sanderson gets lost in the "anti heroes" syndrome. this book goes in length in the failure of human mind.. if I wanted a pseudo psychological book I would not choose fantasy world.. the story Is artificially long, oriented on failings over and over. even the end is in my opinion a failure. Sanderson tries to keep the story going but like a bad TV serie, it fails. I love the first 3 books.. but to come to this?? I have the same feeling I got with the wheel of time.. so great until the last book(s?) ...

So disappointing.

If you want to listen to more than 50 hours of Kaladin talking about his battle shock and his nervous breakdown, and Shalan thinking about her schizophrenia and her nervous breakdown, you're in luck, this book was made for you.
Brandon Sanderson invented a new genre here : Depressing Fantasy. It's a genre where characters spend all their time discussing and thinking about all their mental illnesses, but in a fantasy setting.
Highly recommended for those who feel too happy these days, this book will surely help dampen your good mood.
