I was totally transported. Boyd's novel is caprivating as usual. The historical context was detailed without ever getting tedious. I'd have given 6 stars I f possible for the performance. The reading the best I've experienced by far, Rosamund Pike managed to add to the story without ever getting in its way. I'll look out for her performances here to discover other authors.

The story is great, and the reader is amazing ! I already liked W Boyd books very much, and here I discovered one of his books read and it was just great!

I'm not English and I was afraid of the the story being too difficult to understand or the reader speaking too fast but it was very pleasant. William Boyd is one of my favourite author and once again I havent been disapointed
