I love the Single Dads Playbook. Everything about these stories is utterly swoon worthy. Ellie & Rhodes I was most excited for, nothing says anticipation like a friends to lovers trope. There’s one line in the book, “Woman, you and I have been participating in the longest foreplay known to man.”, sums it up perfectly. There is an overload of built up tension and emotion of a 13 year romance finally coming to its peak. They were always meant to be, anyone could see that and everyone that came in between was simply a placeholder. They needed to grow, but their coming together was the perfect culmination of events. I breezed through the entire audiobook in one sitting and I still can’t get enough. Willow Aster has created such a wonderful found family with this crew and I adore all the sentiment behind the Playbook storyline. It ties it altogether with such beautiful emotion. This story has it all. Friendship, love, heat and sentimentality. Another touchdown!
The audio was so much fun to listen to. Angelina Rocca was the perfect choice as Elle, she has such a dreamy tone to her voice that suited the character to a tee. Sean Crisden sounds exactly like every football star I’ve ever pictured. The way he carried Rhodes’ humour, especially in the bedroom while simultaneously keeping it steamy, was simply perfection.
