Description

A 40-something single dad, a 20-something hockey star, and a whole lot of baggage. No, this couldn’t possibly blow up in their faces.

Officer Geoff Logan has his plate full. His cop’s salary and Marine retirement aren’t enough to make ends meet. He’s got war wounds and demons that are in it for the long haul. His teenagers are, well, teenagers, plus they’re pissed that he left the boyfriend they loved. Can’t a guy catch a break?

Seattle Snowhawks center Asher Crowe has it all. A seven-figure salary. A literal house on a hill. A stable, loving relationship with an amazing boyfriend. At least, that’s what the world sees. Behind closed doors, he’s been living in a private hell, and when he finally works up the courage to end things, his boyfriend refuses to go quietly.

One call to the cops, and suddenly Geoff and Asher’s paths cross. But is the connection between them simple chemistry? Kindred spirits? Or just a pair of lonely hearts looking for a hot distraction?

And even if it’s more than physical, is there really a future for two men from such vastly different worlds? Especially when the past comes knocking?

A hurt hockey player bumping with a hurt older cop

An interesting and nice love story between two men who have been abused by their exes. Not easy to get confident again! Between these traumas, their age difference and their demanding schedules, will they happen to find a way for their burgeoning love?
This story is perfectly narrated by Nick Russo and Michael Ferraiuolo. The voices are perfectly in accordance with the two characters and their different ages.
Highly recommended ;-)

not worth a credit

Not sure which narrator was which, but whoever was the voice of Jeff was awful. Ashers narrator was so so. the story itself was very weak and how the relationship developed was completely inappropriate.

Not L.A. Witt's best, Very boring...

I had a hard time staying interested. Both characters, though not bad, were just so bland. Both suffer different forms of abuse by their exes and are dealing with it differently. Even the sex was boring. I went as far as CHPT 18 and nothing, absolutely nothing happened to hook my focus further. I just gave up since I didn't really give a damn what happened with either MC at this point. I just skipped to the end and even then the epilogue was so bland I didn't finish that either. Also I'm really not digging this big of age gap stories. But I though hey, it's L.A. Witt - oh I was wrong. As I found this book extremely boring, I can't recommend it. I mean most stories have this buildup that supposed to lead our interest around up to the climax and onward to the end, but this book was just a monotonous droning from beginning to end.

Narrators: I love both Nick J. Russo and Michael Ferraiuolo. Love the way they narrate stories but even they couldn't keep me from discontinuing.
