Description
In Terry Pratchett's Reaper Man, Death has left Discworld - but that's not necessarily a good thing. After all, chaos always ensues whenever important public services are withdrawn and Discworld is no exception. Society is suddenly overrun by ghosts and poltergeists, while Dead Rights activist Reg Shoe finds himself busier than he's ever been and newly-deceased wizard Windle Poons rises from his coffin as a living corpse. Windle, Reg and a band of Ankh-Morpork's undead citizens team up to try to save Discworld for the living.
This novel, the 11th in the Discworld series, is the sequel to Mort.

Finally available in North America
Quite a lot of the Discworld books were only availabe in abridged versions in north america. Was very very happy to see that has been remedied. I enjoyed Reaper Man very much, both the story itself and the Narration by Nigel Planer, whom I have found to be excellent reading these stories. I'm going to be using a lot of credits now....

A funny book and a meditation on death
This is another of the great ones. It is a funny, very satisfying story and reading performance. It is also a moving and positive meditation upon life and death. It didn’t strike me that way the time I read it in print. If you don’t see it I recommend giving it another try.
I hope the book expresses Pratchett’s experience of life and death. The only other writer who comes to my mind who expresses similar views on Life and Death is Walt Whitman in the 1st and 3rd editions of Leaves of Grass. Well done to both authors.

Nobody Writes Like Pratchett
Pratchett’s views on all things are unique, but in particular his Death series stands apart. He is genius-level comedian, but also a genius-level philosopher, winding complex and original views about life and death and the human condition into completely original works of humor. I cannot recommend his books enough.

Impeccable narration of one of Terry's best books
This is the proper original unabridged version. could be read standalone. This Death story line book enjoys significant play from the Wizards (sans-Rincewind) and is largely set in Ankh Morpork. Worth every penny.

I love getting lost in one if Pratchett's books.
Having got used to Stephen Briggs, it took some time to accept Planer's voice, but it is quite good, and means I can listen to someone reading it life to me. Love it to DEATH.

Absolute brilliance.
Heartfelt and emotional storytelling. Terry Pratchett at his best. I can't imagine anyone but Nigel Planer as Death's voice.

Absolutely one of Pratchett's best books.
Both laugh aloud and profound. DEATH is told he is getting too interested in humans, so he must retire. People still die but the life force begins piling up. A wizard becomes undead. DEATH is given some time alive and becomes a farmer, especially talented at "reaping". Pratchett piles layer on layer about the meanings we give to life and death. A wise observation on every page and a laugh in every paragraph. Terrific narration. A modern classic.

They've left out half of the book!
Half of this book is about Death dealing with his new "life" and is edited right out!

Wie immer gut, aber ...
... es gibt bessere Scheibenwelt
Romane. Dennoch lohnt es sich auf jeden Fall.
Bin einfach ein Fan von Death!
Viel Spaß beim Hören
