Pretty good to get automatisms and to absorb the sounds of the language. What was surprisingly useful was the English speaker repeating the words slowly with a heavy American accent: it helped understanding the following Russian pronunciation. The scope of the vocabulary is quite limited and won't take you very far, but it's nice to couple with textbooks or to listen to after a formal lesson.
