Description

A dialogue between Socrates and Meno probes the subject of ethics. Can goodness be taught? If it can, then we should be able to find teachers capable of instructing others about what is good and bad, right and wrong, or just and unjust.

Socrates and Meno are unable to identify teachers of ethics, and we are left wondering how such knowledge could be acquired. To answer that puzzle, Socrates questions one of Meno's servants in an attempt to show that we know fundamental ideas by recollecting them.

Why Incomplete?

I don't quite understand. This seems to be missing half of "The Meno" dialogue, yet specifically says "Unabridged."

The entire latter half with Meno and Anytus isn't there! Is this an error in the program? Otherwise the audiobook is excellent, but this unexplained omission makes me distrust the publisher.

Incomplete.

This recording only contains half of the dialogue. It leaves out the part where Socrates engages Anytus.

Not complete

Any additional comments?

This audio book ends halfway through for some reason. It ends right when Anytus arrives.

The Reader stops where Anytus enters the dialogue

The reading is very clear up until for no apparent reason the reader ends prematurely. The total text is about 30 pages, but the reader only reads 20 of the 30.

An excellent rendition.

The Meno is one of the most fundamental Socratic dialogues. This audiobook is worth money.

Incomplete 2/3rds of the story

This audio book is not the complete unabridged meno. There is a significant chunk of the dialectic missing. Everything, after socrates mentions anitus, is missing. The runtime should be closer to 1hour and 20 minutes. That being said, I absolutely love the characterization and the performances given by the voice actors. Its only a shame this wasn’t the complete audiobook.

Excellent performances

This is how Plato is meant to be enjoyed! This brings Socrates and his Interlocutors to life! Very well done. The translation is simple and enjoyable as well. Very, very good!

Part of the Ray Childs series

This is a good plain english version in actor form. Each part has a voice and it explains the dialogue very well.
