    Description

Narrated by Scott Eastwood and Andi Arndt, a sweeping, second chance romance that weaves mystery, passion, and humor as two present-day lovers search for a love story from the past....

Past loves should stay in the past.

After the way my first love took off for the ends of the earth, the last thing I want is to see him on billboards and bookstore bestseller shelves. Now my boss just handed me the project that could make my career. All I have to do is partner up with the man, the myth, the legend - adventurer Hunter Armstrong.

That's easier said than done, because when we reconnect, I learn Hunter has his own agenda on this project. And it's not to find a treasure in art and antiques. It's me. But what we discover shocks both of us, and we have no choice but to follow the clues....

P.S. It’s Always Been You: Part 1 is the first installment in the P.S. It's Always Been You serial novel. Presley and Hunter’s story continues in P.S. It's Always Been You: Part 2.

Enjoy unlimited listening of this installment and future installments in Audible Escape!

    Male part too flat

Scott Eastwood has a much too flat tone for entertaining… Good for falling asleep though.

    Nope.

If you like stories about selfish men with egos bigger than the globe and women who are apathetic and willing to settle for crumbs then this is for you. Otherwise, skip it.

    So... here's the thing...

(Not to be repetitive, but...) So here's the thing: I hardcore love me some Lauren Blakely. In fact, I've been bingeing her books all month in order to catch up on her latest releases and my reviews. She is also one of those oh so special authors that gets how AWESOME audiobooks can be and I truly appreciate the attention she pays when it comes to the production of her books into audio. So when I saw that there was a new addition to her cadre of sexy as sin sounding male narrators and he's actually brushed shoulders with Dwayne Johnson (because I am convinced that it is impossible to breath the same air as that man and not acquire some of his sexy via osmosis) I was so on board. Unfortunately, I think he might have been the low point in this book (for me). His cadence and inflection just didn't... flow. I found that it detracted and distracted from the story and that's a real (and unexpected) shame. So I think I may need to rate the book again after I read it with my eyes because consuming it with my ears was not fun and I feel like it really should've been. Now this is a 3 part story and it did end in a cute little cliffy, so I will continue with the other 2 parts. But this is one of the rare cases where I think the audiobook actually does a disservice to the story instead of enhancing it. 3 out of 5 wine glasses.

    ✫✫ 4 Short Stars ✫✫

Great start to a 3 part series. It was a little too short to actually get lost in but left you wanting so much more. I think I would love this once it's all out and I can binge listen all at once. The characters equal parts fun & serious which is exactly what I know I will get with a Lauren Blakley book. Can't wait to see where this story will be going.

The narration was better than I think I expected. Not that I expected bad but I know Scott Eastwood is a first time narrator so I didn't expect him to be perfect and he wasn't but for his first time, I think he could be an awesome narrator with a little more work (hint hint). He was a little slow and needed a little more emotions but I just bumped it up a little and that worked for me. Andi Arnt is always amazing.

    Love Andi Arndt

I like Scott Eastwood’s voice but to me it was hard to decipher between characters if he had only one character to read for me it would be better. Andi is amazing and it was because of her I was able to keep up with story line.

    Fun and Flirty

When I got to the end of this fun and flirty tale I started to laugh. I had been gently sucked in to a serial mystery for which I might have to wait for the next installment. Not just the next book in a series, with familiar characters, but a Cliff Hanger. I have to say I was charmed. This might not be for everyone, but I say give it a try, you might be pleasantly surprised.

    Part 1

The story is a tease of something more and that is exciting.
I kind of wished I had waited till all the parts were out to listen all together because even though I like Presley and Hunter I just kind of felt a little disconnected. Almost like we know they are going to get a second chance, which is my favorite kind of story, but for me I didn’t feel the chemistry and maybe that is just because we only got so much of the story as of now. Maybe that will come; I have hope because I usually love Lauren unique and quirky stories.

I enjoyed Andi’s performance but Scott’s narration was a bit slow I had to bump the speed up for his parts, that is not to say I didn't enjoy his voice because I did. He kind of just sounds like he is reading a script as with Andi she gives us emotion and inflection bringing Presley to life.

I am excited to see what the next two parts bring.

    Intriguing, Sexy, Second Chance Romance!

This is an intriguing, sexy, second chance romance with a touch of mystery. I love the concept of this story and this first installment sets up this story beautifully. We really get to know Presley and Hunter, their history, and the circumstances that force them to meet again. Presley was blindsided and heartbroken when Hunter left suddenly on a secret adventure. She has worked hard to heal her heart and become a successful Art Curator while Hunter became a famous adventurer. When Presley has the chance of a lifetime to find buried treasure, she wasn't expecting to be teamed up with the one man she never got over. Hunter is excited to have a second chance to make things right with Presley. They easily fall back into their flirty banter filled with steamy innuendo. But their approach to treasure seeking is completely different and they're involved for very different reasons. Can they trust each other when they start to uncover the mystery? The ending will leave you wanting more and thankfully the next installment is coming quickly!
I really liked Scott Eastwood's warm, deep voice. I felt like his cadence was a bit uneven tho, and I wanted to feel more emotion and passion. This is his first audio and I am hoping he will convince me that he is the fearless adventurer he is portraying in the next installments. Andi Arndt does a great job as Presley and I always get lost in her storytelling.
This was a fun, and engaging story that left me wanting more! I can't wait to find out what happens next in part 2!

    Another Chance at Love

    Overall 4 stars
    Performance 3.5-4 stars
    Story 3.5 stars

This was a fun and quick listen. There isn't a painful cliffhanger at the end, but listeners should note that the story is broken into three parts. In this first installment we meet Hunter and Presley, who after an intense, but brief romance, reunite 10 years later on a project for work. The reason behind the separation isn't my favorite, but I'm always a sucker for a second chance romance. Throw in a little forced proximity, humor, and mystery and I'm sold. Andi Arndt is wonderful as always and this was my first time hearing Scott Eastwood narrate. Overall, I enjoyed both their performances, but I did find Scott Eastwood a bit monotone. He didn't have a lot of variation in his voice and it didn't seem to change regardless of who/what character was speaking. It made distinguishing between characters slightly difficult. I'm excited to see where the story goes and for the sparks to fly in the next installment.

Perfect start to the series, can't wait for more!

P.S It's Always Been You is part one of a three part book series by the talented Lauren Blakely. Lauren's audiobooks are some of my absolute favorites and this one is no different. Even though it's short, we get all the character development we need to become addicted to Presley and Hunter. It's a second chance romance with mystery and humor that brings Presley and Hunter together in search of a possible treasure. Will they be able to move from the past into the present and maybe the future? I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Audio - Andi was incredible as always. Scott Eastwood was a pleasure to listen to and I'm looking forward to hearing more from him.

    Short but so good

This was a captivating start to this story about the narration by Scott Eastwood and Andi Arndt was absolutely spot on. They blended so well together you would think that they had been a team for years.

This is a second chance at love story for Hunter and Presley and one that I listened to in it’s entirety. I was intrigued by the story and totally invested in this first part. Scott Eastwood’s voice was swoon worthy and I dell under his spell as Hunter. Andi Arndt as always was spot on and they both added to my listening enjoyment.

Brought back together by circumstances, Presley has never gotten over Hunter leaving her for a mysterious job and now ten years later when she is struggling in her career, he walks back into her life, challenging everything.

This was a little like an Indiana Jones story line and I found myself riveted as the hunt for lost treasure began. I would have loved this to be a lot longer but will wait not so patiently for the part two to release.

    Utterly long-winded and boring

That's actually all there is to say. Wait, no. This is really just one part of a book, not part 1 of a sequel. So right when you think maybe, just maybe, the long-winded introduction will actually become captivating - that's it.
What a waste of time, at least for me.
