The reading could be better, but it is not really bad.
Tony Riches has well researched his subject, yet there are a few historical/religious errors. For instance, like many historical novelist he does not know that the new Year in those times started on Lady Day (25 March), and NOT on the 31st December. Furthermore if there was feasting it would not have been the same as our kind of feasting especially on 24th : it was in Lent !
I will read/listen to the Jasper book.
