Description

A spy who specializes in seduction

Kayla Summers was an elite CIA double agent, working inside China’s deadly MSS. Now, she works for McKay-Taggart London, but the Agency isn’t quite done with her. Spy master Ezra Fain needs her help on a mission that would send her into Hollywood’s glamorous and dangerous party scene. Intrigued by the mission and the movie star hunk she will be shadowing, she eagerly agrees. When she finds herself in his bed, she realizes she’s not only risking her life, but her heart.

A leading man who doesn’t do romance

Joshua Hunt is a legend of the silver screen. As Hollywood’s highest paid actor, he’s the man everyone wants to be, or be with, but something is missing. After being betrayed more than once, the only romance Josh believes in anymore is on the pages of his scripts. He keeps his relationships transactional, and that’s how he likes it, until he meets his new bodyguard. She was supposed to keep him safe, and satisfied when necessary, but now he’s realizing he may never be able to get enough of her.

An ending neither could have expected

Protecting Joshua started off as a mission, until it suddenly felt like her calling. When the true reason the CIA wanted her for this assignment is revealed, Kayla will have to choose between serving her country or saving the love of her life.

A Masters and Mercenaries novel by Lexi Blake.

Love Ryan West Narrating Lexi Blake

I have to admit my absolute love of Lexi’s stories. I immediately purchase them in multiple formats. But the books NOT narrated by Ryan West leave me disappointed. Found in Bliss, for example, left me cackling out loud when I read it but bored stiff with the audio because of the lack of personality that Ryan West would have given the characters. This one doesn’t disappoint! This one would be the M & M book leading to the first Lost Boys book if you’re trying to read in chronological order.

Lexie Blake at her best!

Wow’. What a ride this book took me on. So much happened and Lexie masterfully moved the overarching story line ahead and made great tie ins with others from the Masters and Mercenaries world in a way that only she can tell a story. Ryan West turned in another brilliant performance. He is the voice in my head for all the Taggerts. I’m a super fan of Lexi Blake and just love the voice and performance of Ryan West. I highly recommend the Masters and Mercenaries series!

Love it!

Ryan West’s narration is on pointe as always in this series. I love Kayla and was happy she finally got her HEA. Spy games, an A list actor with secrets, two dads you’ll fall in love with and of course evil bad guys are all part of this great listen.

Former CIA Kayla Summers goes on Assignment

Former spy Kayla is assigned a final mission to infiltrate a movie location of actor Josh Hunt as his bodyguard and submissive. A good chapter in the overall narrative and a bridge between the normal stories for Masters & Mercenaries series and setting up for the Lost Boys series. Good story, plenty of action and the usual BDSM scenes with the usual good Ryan West narration though it is Sadly not dual narration.

Good story but a lot of loose ends left hanging.

Grant it I’m older and my memory isn’t what it used to be, but I had trouble keeping up with all the characters. Sometimes they called them by their first name and sometimes by the last name. The story itself is pretty good however I felt a couple more chapters would’ve gave it a better ending.

Super hot and so extremely exciting

This was a terrific book, with great characters. It was filled with constant twists and turns, also had two returning from the dead. Part of the storyline is tragically sad and happens so much around the world these days. I normally don’t like actors but Joshua was such a likable person even with his coldness at first. Kayla was such a kick-a— female who talks to dolphins & a seal. All around one of the best in this series. Great narration by Ryan West.

Finally in audible!

I was so happy that this book finally became available on audible. I really wanted to see Kayla get her HEA. She is one of my favorite badasses that needed to find some happiness. This was perfect all the way around. Both from torture and hardships most couldn't survive without going mad. Joshua is a survivor who is dedicated to truth in his work and in his life. He needs some control and still keep a sense of freedom in his life. They are perfect together. She needed him, just as much as he needed her. The problem is what they are apart of besides that. Will they survive it? Will secrets drive them apart. Kayla is so protective and I love her for it. I loved the performance and hearing Ian being Ian is always a freakin treat. I love that asshole!

Another great read / listen from Lexi Blake and Ryan West. These 2 go so well together like wine and chocolates. Lexi is a go to author always leaves me waiting impatiently for the next book doesnt matter which series . And Ryan West .... what words can descibe his wonderful narration that brings the characters, male, female it doesnt matter, to brillant life. Only problem is I hate when each book ends.

I love this series

If I had to say anything bad about this is I wish Lexi would number the books so you could read in order. This book takes place before the lost boys. Continuity is a bit off. Other than that I love this series. I actually laugh out loud so many times. Some of the funniest is with Kayla's dads. Normally I like duet narration the best. Most male narrators can't pull off a female voice but Ryan does it without me knowing it. Such a great book. So worth the credit!
