NINE OVER PAR is Tim Miller's second collection of golf-themed stories and includes the novella "The Links Lighter." Gene Santos always dreamed of a life in Comedy. He lives a normal life with normal regrets, until a fateful night at the Twin Oaks Monday Night Men's Golf League when he suffers a traumatic brain injury. In his mind, he's reliving his lost youth and doing stand-up comedy, but in reality he's setting golf courses on fire. At his side is the ghost of Phineas Gage, neuroscience's most famous patient, appealing to Gene's logic and reason. Phineas follows Gene to the edge of insanity, armed only with his trusty tamping iron and the knowledge that it's still possible to overcome trauma and regret.
