I recommend this (audio)book.
The story of the bun and of the Tara followers were for me the most interesting, but all stories are (also the one of the buddhist monk, or of the blind menestrel. The book was written 15 years ago. Incredible to see such devotion, which, i think was (is still?) quite common in India.
