There's a double murder on Military Road. The bodies of Colonel Matthew Hanson and his wife Susan are discovered with a single shot to the head. Detective Faye-Lynn Johnson is assigned the case, but even with her extraordinary powers of observation and deduction, the killings are baffling. Faye-Lynn and her partner can find no possible motive for the horrible murders. Enter General John Brittan, Commander of a Top-Secret Strategic Defense Program, he orders the detectives to back off the case.
