    The writing team for this audio book seems to have consisted of a teenage American boy, one of Nathan W Pyle’s aliens and the late Ernie Wise. The dialogue is quite bizarre, verging at times on the farcical. The protagonists appear to threaten each other with ring-pull Coke cans. Moriarty as a love-sick puppy? Well, that’s novel. It is supposed to be a take on the Sherlock Holmes mysteries, but the greatest mystery is how they persuaded Helen Mirren to put her name to it.
